Knowing what the day holds changes the way we sleep and wake up. In verse 11, Paul tells us to awake as if for a monumental day, leaving behind the night, realizing the deadline is near. Then, in preparation for the day, it says to get rid of all darkness and put on the armor of light. We are to walk properly, without anything that might impede our spiritual lives. Rather than hidden deeds done under darkness, we are to put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. As Christians, we are to wake from this lazy sleep that hold us in darkness. We are to put on Christ for the world to see Him.
