We tend to hate resistance and opposition. Technology has raised the bar on our expectations so high that our culture is too impatient to cope with the confinements of restriction. We say and think things like, “It takes too much time! Why is this being intentionally being made difficult?!” It’s not because there’s urgency to our goals. It’s because we feel entitled to things being easy. In Judges 3:1-6, God said that He allowed there to be resistance, opposition and difficulty in the daily lives of His people in order to test and to teach them. If we start to treat our daily challenges as opportunities to learn and practice God’s truth, not only will we become more like Jesus, but we’ll also make the most of every moment of our time here on Earth.
