When you think of love, which book of the Bible comes to mind? The book of Hosea should be near the top of your list. It’s a radical look on the depths of God’s love for His people. First we read of a faithful husband (the prophet Hosea) who marries a prostitute and continues to pursue her, even after she’s gone back on her promise to leave that lifestyle. Then, in chapter 11, the Holy Spirit paints the picture of God giving birth to the nation of Israel, going so far as to describe how He “taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by their arms”. We read in the last chapter: “I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, for my anger has turned away from him,” (Hosea 14:4). God loves you more than you could ever imagine. May you grow more in love with Him each passing day.
