Ambidextrous • 1 Chronicles 12:1-2

These verses explain how these mighty men could use their right and left hands with equal ease. This is an obvious advantage on the battlefield for a soldier, but what about for us spiritually? There are two issues here: willingness and ability. Are you willing to answer God’s call, even if you’d never choose to do it that way? Jesus said that to follow Him, you have to deny yourself (Matthew 16:24). As for ability, when we pray for patience, God often gives us the opportunity to be patient. In other words, some people are born ambidextrous, but some people have to practice writing with their less dominant hand because it doesn’t come naturally to them. Recognize your strengths and weaknesses, and pray that God would make you spiritually ambidextrous.
