“He who has begun a good work in you will complete it” (Philippians 1:6). In the Greek, the words for “begun” and “complete” are technical terms that refer to the beginning and end of a sacrifice. Paul emphasizes that when Christ drew us unto Himself by His love on the cross, He officiated the beginning of the surrender of our lives to God in an act of worship. For the Christian, the burden of a life well lived isn’t one that we have to carry alone. As our High Priest, Jesus is will prove faithful by finishing what He has begun.
