Greetings precious Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you for your faithfulness to partner with me in this ministry through your prayers and support as we travel around the world training up and equipping leaders; discipling the church; witnessing and ministering to the lost of the world. Only eternity will reveal the fruit of our labors.
October of 2011 I had the opportunity to teach the Inductive Bible Study Method to two separate group of pastors and leaders in Saigon. Most were very receptive and desirous to learn how to study the Word of God so they could better minister to their flocks. It was a delight to spend 5 days with each of the groups, getting to know them, fellowship with them, hear their challenges and praise reports.
The end of November and first of December, one of my daughters and I traveled to Israel where I conducted a two day pastor’s conference for those working in Israel. It was a blessed time as we worshiped together; prayed for each other; ministered the Word which brought encouragement and instruction in righteousness. We also stayed some extra days with Steve and Araina joining the fellowship of believers they shepherd so faithfully. It is always a joy to be with them and be able to see the wonderful work the Lord is doing both in and through them.
January we took what has become an annual trip to Cambodia were we visited 9 villages in ten days treating over 1600 people for their medical, dental, vision, and spiritual ills. We had a team of 12 people from many different walks of life, ranging from age 17-70. The Lord greatly blessed this trip in every way, everyone got along well, ministered effectively, experienced things like never before and were privileged to see over 700 villagers come to salvation in Jesus Christ. Our Cambodian part of the team is a joy to work with always. Many life long friendships were formed as well as lasting impressions that the Lord made on many hearts. I want to extend and invitation to you to be in prayer about joining us on a future trip to serve the people of Cambodia physically and spiritually. You may contact me with any questions that you may have.
February, my third son Jonathan and I. traveled once again to Cuba along with CC Downey to partner with them as they held their annual pastor’s conferences. As always it was a joy to be with my son and the team from Downey was well as the pastors from various parts of the world. The first conference was held in the center of the island where appoximately 400 pastors and their wives attended the 3 day conference. The theme “Walking in the Light” was taken from 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” All were blessed as the conference enables participants to come away from the normal routines of life and ministry and be refreshed, encouraged, reminded, challenged, and built up in the faith. The economic situation seems to have changed quite a bit since I was there in September of 2011. The Government is allowing people to have businesses and do things that have not been permitted for many years. By no means has Cuba become a thriving metropolis with unlimited freedoms but it is a move in the right direction. I warned the pastors of a danger that is in the horizon with these new found freedoms and opportunities. The danger is that which we have had in our country for years and which I have seen overtake China in the past ten years. It is the danger described by Jesus in Mark 4:19, ” The cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful.” Continue to pray for your brothers and sisters in Cuba as they face these new challenges.
March I traveled to Australia and New Zealand to teach the IBS, speak at churches, and teach the CC Bible School in Rotorua, New Zealand. I stayed with long time friend and family Ben and Laura Grisez who took on the pastorate in Sydney a year and a half ago. They are doing a great job working with the precious people of the church who had been through a lot over the past 5 years. Keep them in prayer as the Lord brings healing and restoration to His people. Ben and I traveled to New Zealand and taught at the Bible School for three days. I always enjoy being around Bible College students, they have such an excitement and interest in the Word of God. Many of the students are 4th semester students and will be graduating in May. Pray that the Lord guide and direct the students. New Zealand is absolutely beautiful. We also ministered at CC Rotura and had great fellowship with the precious brethren there.
